We decided to take a ride to Dingman's Falls today. Got some nice pics with the mirror mounted camera, about half of them on this album. On the way back, we were very lucky to see a HUGE black bear meandering along the field. Had to at least be as large as the LT, probably bigger.
Stopped to take a pic, and her camera battery is all but stone dead, but we got two pics. It appeared he was heading towards the stoned access road the bike was parked, and with the crackling noise in the headset from the wind, Megan thought she heard the bear coming towards her though the woods.....you had to be there to appreciate it! It was a handful getting the bike back out onto the highway.
Anyway, I got the best pic we could before he headed into the thickets. Great ride.......at least until the last 50 miles or so when some GDSOAB on a cell phone pulled out on us with way too little room to squeak by. I laid on the horn as we darn near hit what looked like a Navigator or similar type SUV, and they could have cared less.
Had to use a great deal of restraint, at least that's what the law states when you have the means to otherwise neutralize the threat......... I was none to happy with that encounter. Over 100 miles of driving through the some of the most densely populated deer territory and we were almost taken out by some turd on a cell phone.........
Double left click the first image, scroll using the tiny arrow at the top.
Otherwise, a beautiful day for a ride. 70 degrees & overcast. AND, the bike ran great!
