That site does show up now and again. There is definitely some useful info there. However, there's also a lot of opinion, and a few thinly-veiled rants against things that the author doesn't understand.

His "essay" on LD riding is misinformed at best, and offensive at worst. If he doesn't feel like participating in a legal activity sanctioned by a body of volunteer enthusiasts whose #1 priority is safety, then that's fine. But to call such an activity "stupid" is going way over the top. If you don't like it, don't participate, but be reasonable enough to let others choose to follow their own bliss.

And for the record, maintaining a 60+ m.p.h. average on the interstate system is pretty easy on today's modern bikes. In fact, an average speed of 62.5 m.p.h. means you can easily do 1,000 miles in a day, and get 8 hours' sleep each night. That may not be everyone's idea of a perfect ride, but it is just as valid as riding 100 miles then stopping at Dairy Queen.

So read the various essays, but use your own judgement to decide what to keep and what to throw out. In fact, that should be standard procedure for almost anything you come across, especially on the 'net.
