FD Question

What the @#$% is "Final Drive Burp"? What causes it? I got curious about a
puddle on my rear caliper, had roadside service tow my new '06 with only 1830 miles on it to the BMW dealer. I still have a warranty, so I'm not worried, yet.
Is this a portent of things to come? Stay tuned.

I don't know - had mine do it once in 44,000 miles. Might be worth it to pull the cap and make sure the foam piece is in there.

What is this foam piece ? and where is it located ?
My FD puked once because I over filled it ,drained it and refilled with correct volume and no more problems .

The foam is in the stand pipe for the breather.
