I had my bike serviced at Cape Fear BMW in Wilmington, NC. Great guys and great service. I paid $875 for both services and that included going synthetic with all the lubricating fluids. I thought it was a very fair price. Any thoughts?

If you don't like doing your own, and thought trading them $900 to do it was OK, then you're a happy camper.
How the Fall riding wx?
We're coming into peak riding season here.

Compared to what we pay in So Cal that is a great price for the 12K service. If I could get that price out here on the left coast I wouldn't have to pester my friends for help me with servicing. The last 12K service I had @ 36K set me back nearly $2K which did included bleading and servicing the brakes.

That sounds like a good price as BMW service goes, but the sad part is that this amount would pay for 100,000 miles of scheduled maintenance on any one of my three 4-wheeled vehicles! That is truly depressing.

I was quoted a similar price by my local dealer too. I have decided to do it myself.
Think of it... that's almost $900 for Oil, Spark Plugs, Other Fluids, Grease, Valve Check/Adjustment and not much more. To me it doesn't seem like a fair trade.

I've seen the mechanical works that are done by my hands, and it is usually not a pretty sight :histerica ....Spark plugs and oil are not a problem, it's the valve checking I wouldn't trust me with...

Does it also include flushing the coolant? These tasks are time consuming and would warrant what you paid.

Yes they did flush and change the break fluid and the coolant.

At the end of the day, it's like Bob said:
