Mornin all... what is best for front and rear tires, currently running 880's :wave

Tire pressures are subjective,
as there are many varying opinions.

Whats often neglected and just as important
is to change the air in your tires at regular intervals
just like you would change your oil. :)

I've seen 42/48 recommended the most here and that is what I run now. I got almost 9K on my rear 880 and the front is going strong at nearly 10K. I suspect I'll get 12K or so on the front.

you need to be careful hans, someone might think you're serious about changing the air in your tires

Run max pressure on the side wall of the tire for 2 up. Max -2 solo. I run the ME880s at 42 front and 48 or 50 rear.

Good Morning: 42 F - 48 R or 50 2up fully loaded seems to be the best for me these past 36K smiles.

Solo: 40 Front Rear 46
Two Up: 40 Front Rear 48
Heavy two up + Load: 42 Front Rear 50

Fortunately, the air is so dry here, we don't need to change it.

Best from Tucson

Yeah, when I use air, I use dino air but with the nitrogen I depend on A***** air which can go a year without changing.

That's what I'm talking about
a "very" important and often neglected maintenance procedure.

http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=19882

Also when y'all come down here for the winter,
be sure to "purge" the northern air from your tires and replenish with the "proper" mixture.
I'm not a "professor" so I don't "fully" understand all the variables,
but I think it has something to do with the humidity of the latitudinal atmospheric pressures etc.

What is wrong with checking/refilling the air pressure by convetional way on a weekly or biweekly basis?

Front 36 Rear 50............

I went there and found the recommendation to be 2.5 bar in the front and 3.2 bar in the rear which is 36 and 46, not 50.

Sorry, I tried from memory and thought that the rear was 3.5. Thanks for double checking.

I started out using the 36 recommendation for hte front, but had fairly serious cupping commence at about the 4-5,000 mile point. I then upped to 42 per many recommendations here and the cupping has not gotten any worse in the 5K since then and I think has even went away to some degree.
