:wave

I've gotten repeated ABS alternate flashing. All's fine after the reset until the bike moves forward and the familiar "clunk" is heard.

I'll be buying a multimeter today in order to do the diagnostic, but in the event it's the sensor gap, excuse my ignorance, but is there a way to do this without the expense of a dealer or the tools the dealer uses to accomplish this? Just curious.

Thanks in advance for any advice for this newbie!:o

The toolkit has a feeler guage to set the sensor gap..

I don't know the measurements. It's two. one marked min. other marked max.

If you can't find the measurements let me know and I'll get out the micrometer...
It's just a feeler guage...

Is your's missing ?

I'm going to assume I've got the feeler guage, haven't been able to even check yet. The only thing I was referring to was a few pictures I seen of a bmw micrometer looking tool that was hooked up to the brake unit. I guess that's what the dealer uses to check the gap? I just wanted to know if there was a way to check gap without going to a dealer or investing in their tooling.....

Thanks!

Yes, with the feeler guage normally included in the tool kit.

I can't imagine a more "special" tool to do this job..
Don't know what you're refering to at the dealer. They hook up the computer and test the motronic and stuff but the gap is still manually set with the feeler guage..

Here's what I'm referring to...

That's for checking the run-out (warp ) of the sensor ring... I guess to find the widest point in the sensor gap and then use the feeler guage from there.

I'd just guage it in several points around the wheel...Sometimes they just get too technical..

the gap is just set with the feeler guage and removing/adding to the shims between the frame and the sensor.

Gap is listed at .45-.55 mm.

Good luck
