I just installed the H.A.R.D. (http://www.legalspeeding.com/products.htm#components) system. I'm anxious to give it a try on the road - it checks out fine at home. Radar detector is a V1. I already have a "Radar Screamer" on the LT, but dislike advertising to the world that I'm tracking incoming radar.

Mine works great. Just remember to turn it off when you get done riding.

H.A.R.D. Got it and love it.....BUT....you have to get into the habit of turning it off the moment you shut the bike down. If you shut it down everytime the batteries will last a month or two. If you forget to turn it off, then it will be only days between changes.

Yeah, I'll definitely keep the batteries in mind.

Now, I need to address the helmet noise issue. I have this thing installed in an HJC CL-15, which has to be the noisiest helmet ever conceived by man - way noisier with it on than with nothing on at all.

I don't earplugs; I dislike anything stuck into my ears. Gonna' try a Schuberth S1 and see if that helps any.

I'll second the battery warning. I have to replace mine this afternoon because I forgot to turn it off last night. The remote is the worst design ever. Where did everyone else mount it? I had to modify my helmet a bit to get it to fit inside. It works but is a PITA to get at to change batteries.

I wear an Aria Corsair and put the "Receiver" (velcro attached) on the bottom of the front chin section slightly to the left (if you put your finger between your bottom lip and your chin, and then move it 1" to the left, that's where it would line up). I have a microphone mounted dead center.

The velcro allows me to pull the unit out quicky and I keep a small screwdriver in my tank bag. It only take me a couple minutes to swap the batteries.

I too dislike my V1 screeming as I go down the road. I just sent mine to J&M for the conversion to plug directly into the BMW Com System. Of course you have to have the BC2 or 3 for it to work, but now the sound will be transmitted directly to my helmet headset at the volume I choose. My understanding is that the sound will not "cut" out music like the intercom, but instead it will act like the GPS "route frau" and speak softly while listening to the music. I'm looking forward to this change. Again I will need a test rider in a couple weeks since I will not be able to ride for a while. Hey Meese! When are you coming up again?:yeah:

Where will you plug it into the BC? I have an Escort and a BC2 and didn't even think there was a way of connecting them.

If you remove the Left handlebar cover you will find a recepticle waiting for a plug. There will be three wires coming into the recepticle (Red = Pos, Blk = Neg and Wht = Audio).

I'll be up the end of February/beginninmg of March. I'll have my bike this time, but will be glad to do what I can to help a friend put a few miles on his poor, neglected bike. Hm, I suppose it's too early for the Grand Tour to start. :D

I just ordered my V1

I didn't order any accessories as I bought it used from a fellow LTr, it is the v.1.7 so not missing much except for the POP thing..which..I KNOW NOTHING about seeing as I run the radar most of the time. I didn't feel it was an issue.

What do I need to get the V1 to report INTO my helmet..!!

Pictures of the input under the left handlebar cover?? Is that all I need to do?

I have a 2003 K1200LT with Factory intercom system. I have the cd player in the oddments box.
