It's a week too late for me. I'll heading up to the Adirondacks (among other places) the week before. It's my only weekend off until the end of October.

Yeah, we need to figure out if we're meeting up there or riding up together or what. I booked our room at the Hunter Lodge so we're planning to head up on Friday night after work.

Okay... I love my LT... but my thirst for off-road riding is beginning to bubble up too...I remember the days.. when my highway was the back-woods trails and railroad service roads... playground were gravel pits, quarry walls and rock ledges.... and paths were carved in the winter....for the next seasons ride.....oh my SO is going to be pissed... hehehe

I remember too and so does all the arthritis in my body!
Why not bring the SO with you. This just isn't a motorcycle rally it's also in conjunction with the Hunter Mtn Octoberfeast. They'll be plenty to do for rider's and non rider's.

Ah she will get over it. Mine did. I wish I could go with you this weekend. But duty calls. My last BRC for the year.

Have a great ride and weekend. Take lots of pics. Anybody up for a ride at the end of Oct?

WOW! I got out for a ride a little bit today and aside from the knobbies being loud on pavement, I can't WAIT until she gets to experience the ride quality compared to the Softail... hehehe... I was hitting potholes just for fun!
If the LT wasn't paid off already, it would be on the chopping block tomorrow! I'll just keep it around for when I want to work on stuff and use the heated seats and radio.... :D

Blown Slave Cylinder. It's been at the Stealership in Rochester since Labor Day. :(

Thinking about trading the LT for a much lighter GS.:)

Maybe I'll see you in the Spring!

DO IT!!! I have only put a few miles on my GS and love it!!!!! I just got the Touratech Catalog and have already started marking stuff even though the GS came loaded and I mean loaded. I bought an 05 with 22K on her. I have hit the dirt already and ridden around the house a few times. It is soooo much fun. So JUST DO IT!!!!!!!!

We are here right now. I met a few LT members yesterday, if any of you have the chance come on up to Hunter Mtn this weekend. It's pretty neat, it's free, it's just a few hours north of NYC, not that far from Phila, the colors are starting to be pretty impressive, and the weather is great although a little on the cool side so dress appropriately. The owners of this ski resort are really impressed with the quality of the people who are showing up. I can see this being a annual thing.

Hey Nick, this is the guy that talked to you about your change from FT to Monsoon rain gear this morning... I spoke with Brian the marketing manager for Hunter (and BMW rider) on Sat night. He said they counted about 1500 bikes and 3300 people "through the beer hall". He said they had already signed up for next year. My wife and I had a good time and a great ride up and back through the Catskills and Berkshires. Hope business was good for you!

What a great event this was especially for a first year! It has the potential to become a very large rally. Many people are predicting it will be like a fall version of Americade. The people at Hunter were great to work with and it exceeded their expectations. The BMW organizers did a fantastic job putting this event on. The hotel and condos at Hunter, the motels in town, and the two state park campgrounds sold out. The area is absolutely beautiful. With many great riding roads. Look for increase activities next year with more lodging options. If any of you want to go next year I would book early. This will be the premier BMW if not multi brand bike rally in the North East next year.

It was nice to meet many of you! Yes business was pretty good and most appreciated! It appears they had somewhere around 5000 people attend. Next year I expect that to double maybe even triple if what I hear comes true. Even the Harley types had a good time and I caught many checking out BMW's. I even sold some pants and jackets to a couple who are fed up with the whole Harley image. They decided they wanted to be warm and dry for a change. You know when you see something like that maybe there's really hope for the world after all!!!!
