View Full Version : Clutch pressure low solved?

I think the entire problem may be ME?

I've been playing around pumping that handle trying to get PRESSURE! similar to my front brake pressure? The one with the new stainless flex line.

It finally occurred to me that I don't pay much attention to how much pressure I used, when it worked; and that it did spew forth a couple of big bubbles when I first started trying to push any air through the line.

Maybe I don't remember pulling the handle all the way to handle bar was because I only pulled it in enough to disengage the clutch? And like a car whose clutch pedal will go all the way to the floor, it was working OK?

I fired her up again, pulled the handle all the way in, and easily shifted in and out of first.

The other oddity I've discovered is that I can't seem to get the radio control cover and headlight-front windshield cover off to access the bolt to loosen and turn the reservoir level. I've found the two bolts that hold the radio control to the handle bar, and that sneaky long thin bolt that hides in the tunnel for the RS style mirrors and the nickle plated screw behind the turn signal button.

Time to test my theory that the clutch pressure and clutch work fine.

There is one tiny one on the bottom back side of the radio control pad (you almost have to feel for it). Then the pad front comes loose and the last screw will be visible.

Thanks for the reply John.

The clutch seems to work fine--definitely a problem with the amateur mechanic instead of a mechanical problem.

Took a short ride to PepBoys figuring they'd have a banjo bolt; they gave me a dumb look; went across the street to a BIG mc, 4 wheeler, jet ski dealer--they told me they don't stock BMW parts but could order an after market one which would be there in less than 2 weeks. I came back home.
