Ok, I bought a 2009 LT and I am gonna keep it.
I keep reading about this and that, from stem to sturn upgrades.
How about we LIST all the pertinent upgrades in one compiled list???
I would sure appreciate this.

Listed in descending order of of significance of necessary upgrades:

HID low beam. This is simply the best money invested on an LT.
Bakup back rest.

After you ride it for a while:
Windshield - various aftermarket options, depends on your preferences and physical size.
Aftermarket suspension.
Custom seat.

I agree with Tim. Bakup backrest (just bought used from member) HID low beam lights and a CeeBailey #2-3 windshield. My bike is perfect for me with just these add ons. A lot of members have added many differant things to thier bikes. I like the KISS pholosophy. One of the bueaties of BMW bikes is the uncluttered and practical nature of the riders controls. Everything that you really need is already there.

I believe this thread is headed in the wrong direction!

What I am asking for is NOT farkling but MECHANICAL upgrades.
i.e:
Stainless fuel connectors?
Drilling weep hole in Tranny? WTF?
Trunk latch removal/replacement?ECT.

These are just a few I have read that are thrown around like they are common knowledge.
The 2009 comes stock w/ HID, ect.

MECHANICAL UPGRADES,
Like shifter linkage replacement ball?
and on and on.
A compiled list would be a gold mine for those looking to keep the LT for the long haul.
Thanks.

Now this is just "my opinion" butt........why don't you just ride it?

the only thing I'd wanna do to a "new" LT is put miles on it
especially considering it comes with a warrantee.

Iffen it ain't broke, don't fix it.

You can't make it bulletproof. Just ride it like it is and get it fixed when it breaks............ :)

Agree. Upgrades are personal. Ride it and over time you'll figure out what it needs to be perfect for you.
