Have been considering a Russell Day Lone seat on my 06 for a while now, however, I hate to invest that much money in a product I have not tested. So, my question is , anyone in the Toms River NJ area have a Russell Day long Seat on their RT they would be willing to let me test on my RT.

Get one.

You'll never regret it.

I recently purchased one for my LT. Rode it to work twice and then did a Iron Butt Saddle Sore 1000 on the following Saturday on the way to CCR. 1116 miles in 18 hours. I could have kept on going and going and going. Great saddle. Get the backrest if you can...........

I agree, just get one. I just spent 2,400 miles on one (11 days) and I was never in discomfort. This has certainly been the best $$$ I have ever spent on a motorcycle.

Russel seats don't work for me. I did regret mine and did sell them. The RT was free, the Concours cost me (first one). I personally found that I did not like the wings as it creates a pocket that prevents moving on it to relieve a pressure spot.

I will not own another Russel Day-Long because of the design. Even though I know many people prefer them, I'm just not one of them.

Every ass is different... only you can know if it will work for you and only after a few hours riding on it.

I understand what you're trying to accomplish however, the Russell is a "custom" saddle built for your body type, weight, height and, to some extent, riding posture. PLUS, all custom seats "break-in" to their owners butts over the first 1,000 miles.

With all that said, you might like the ride with a borrowed Russell or you might not but, it doesn't mean you wouldn't fall in love with your own custom version.

As for endorsements, I have a Russell for both rider and pillion on the LT and absolutely love it. I do recommend the backrest option from Russell because it is quite simply the best design, most adjustable and comfortable one on the market.
