Well I have complained about all seats I have had from
to Sargent Seats Low and Standard and BMW Low and Standard
and Cee Bailey..
I liked the low Sargent seat the most but want to sit back farther
and know that know company is going to make custom built pans
for few who require them.
I know the way I felt on RT that I needed to sit back another 1 to
2 inches.
So yesterday took Sargent Seat and cut the rear seat where it tapers
towards the front seat and cut the pan and foam by 2 1/2" and drove it
with foam pushed back to that area
What a difference that made in making you feel more stretched out and
less cramped in sitting..
Now I will take aluminum and make the two seats one and where the taper
was make that a backrest for myself and put small hump at top to keep
wife in place and send to upholster and hopefully find happiness with RT.
Yesterdays ride made up for me cutting into new Sargent seat after
spending almost 9oo for it and finding comfort at last.
I know I now have to work on rear seat for wifes comfort some on changing
foam for Sargent is just to firm..
Will post pictures when completed hopefully at end of October.
Good Luck in finding your seating comfort...Joe

Going to make this seat on Rt a one peice and bond the
two sections together.
I talked to a local upholsterer on what I have and
how I feel with the pads I am using to sit on and that my
comfort on RT now that I am sitting back 2 inches more
has made me feel like the bike is finally coming to me.
My wifes section of seat really is not losing any space
because of the long taper in that section.
And with doing this I was also able to sand down the pan
and lower the seat height about 3/4" .
I was told approx 350.00 for shaping and upholstering
with leather and putting a Jel packs in seating..
Hopefully in a month I will have it completed and will post pictures
and get few hundred miles on it before shoulder surgey..

Good luck with your modification. I'm anxious to see how it turns out.
When I had my saddle modified by Bill Mayer Saddles, they made it so I was able to sit back about 2". Very comfy now!

A Update on Ultra Harley seat on Rt !!!!
Wow can not believe I am riding the same bike.
Wife likes the ride also..
We did 5 hours of NJ riding..LOL
The seat offers a suspension with the foam it is
made of and the sitting back 2 inches has made
me feel like riding my old 1985 Venture that was my
favorite bike riding with a passenger.
We get the new trunk this week to move it back 2 inches
and give my wife a little more room on back..
This really has made this bike what I think will be a tourer.
I cut more foam to lower seat to a nice height and still have
a nice comfortable ride..
Will post pictures when completed in few weeks hopefully.
