Ok I screwed up. But how bad did I screw up or not? I have been running non synthetic 20W50 in LT. I have about 30,000 miles on it. Well I wanted to top off the oil before a trip and I realized I added about 1/4 qt. of synthetic 20W50. I decided to take a different bike on the trip to MotoGP so I have not run the LT since adding the synthetic. Is this added oil going to cause me any problems till next oil change.
Thanks all!!!

Not a single problem. You now basically have a synthetic blend with very little synthetic oil in it!
Remember, it is always best to add bad oil than no oil at all in an engine that needs some, except that in your case you added a very good oil.

I have done that on ...well...non-BMW bikes where I use a 20w50 V-Twin oil and we are somewhere in the USA and I need to buy a quart. The best I can find at the auto store is some other brand in a 10W30.
Like it was said, bad oil is better than no oil.

Please tell me what the difference is between V-Twin 20W50 and standard 20W50.

Most likey the term 'V Twin' and about $3.00 per quart.

The "Genuine" V-Twin 20W-50 comes in containers with dribble spouts that automatically spill some on the ground beneath your bike as you pour it.

No problem. Ride it until your next change and don't worry.

Mobil claims their synthetic 20/50 for motorcycles has a higher shear rating than automotive mixes. But I still don't know how they justify 11 bucks a quart. Maybe it's the fancy container.

Marketing! :pExactly! It's just what color plastic bottle you like. Do you like the black bottle or the blue bottle?
