Well I finally did it. Traded my Kawi 900Lt for an 08 RT demo. The only drag is that I got home and its been raining since. Oh well, time to read the documentation and stare at it in the garage. The bike has @ 1,300km on it (@750 miles) and came with the first service completed. It had the options I was looking for and the color I wanted so turned out to be a good deal. Now I am hoping the winter cold takes its time in coming so there is still a good fall riding season.

One question, my wife really liked the passenger floorboards on my old bike. How many of you have installed passenger floor boards on your RT and does it make a difference?

Congratulations !! Great new ride !
Riding it in the rain is no problem and when warm, it's pleasant. Once the snow flies you're parked for the duration.
Go for a ride on that new Beemer ...... today! :bmw:
Best wishes,
Keir

I agree, with the adjustable windscreen and a good BMW breathable all weather outfit on and full faced Shoei, rain is just a chance to try out the ABS at lower speeds . Its fine for getting used to the bike.

Remember the rule though, never turn the bars and put on the front brake at low speed at the same time, rain or not. You will drop the sucker. LOL

On Friday I hooked up with a couple of K bikes. We did a 400 mile loop that brought us to Max BMW in NH before heading home. From Max to home it's about 150 minutes on slab (per the Zumo). It was getting dark by the time we hit I-90. Friday evening, rain, dark... it was an interesting ride. My RT was flawless.

I guess my points are congrats on the buy, and ride it. Rain - not a problem.

Congratulations on the purchase.

Great bike.

As for me, the more I ride it the more i like it :)

Bike is very stable and sure footed in the rain.

If you do get to have ABS kick in, it is very unobstrusive.

Ride safe and ride often!!
