Hey Guys and Gals,
Anybody on here have a Russell Day Long Heated (Low ) Seat that is just not working out for them that maybe they have had thoughts about selling?
I would sure like to take it off your hands.
I have the Russell Standard hgt seat but would also like to have the Low version when just running around town.
Make that for a 07 R1200RT

I do not have the Russell seat but I do have a lot of personal opinion about seats since I have done a good bit of research on the subject.

All I can contribute is that the Russell Low may be lower than the Russel standard but it is quite a bit taller than the OEM Low.. Just saying that so that you do not spend a good bit of money on something that may not fit your expectations.

And I might as well chime in further... if all you want the Day Long low seat for is local rides... isn't that sort of an oxymoron? Day Long Seat for short local rides?

I would like to thank you for you intelligent and helpful reply.
I have had several Russell Day Long seats, both on bmw's & fjr's.
I know all about the Russell. I have never sent in a pic and all of that crap for any bike that I have ever purched one for. Just sent in the seat and told them to build a seat for 6-2" & 230. I have always been able to live with the seat a hell of a lot better than the stock.
And besides riding around town on a russell is far better than the stock on any day.
I have the front and rear russel and would like for a russell low to match up and to give me comfort.
Thanks again for all the informative info that you laid on me.

OK........ great you have an opinion
but absolutely no knowledge and experience with a Russel seat.
uhmm....thank you for sharing your "opinion" with us.

now for a fact based opinion,

I've owned 3 Russel seats, each one for close to 100K
one on my 83R80RT, my 90K75RT and my 96K1100LT.

I had a Rick Mayer seat on my 02LT
and my current 05LT came with a RM seat.

Now for the opinion part,

I will never buy another RM seat
(no reflection on the man himself just his product)
my next seat will be a Russel

Love my Rick Mayer seats on all the BMWs and Harleys. They work for me being short and chunky... 5' 6" and 215 pounds with 29" inseam.

Just bought a used set of RM seats for my RT.. Can't really give you an opinion yet. But I've rode many a mile on a Russell..I have Corbins on the CLC and the RT till Friday and they're ok. Just a little "hard" for me...

So I bought the set of RM's knowing that at least they're on a BMW pan and I can send them in to Russell this winter....

More on the RM as I get a few miles on it.. It's not bad... so far,, I might like it better than the Corbin.. That's not saying too much except any of them are better than stock...
