Need some thoughts/input/advice on the price of a used bike.

Found a dark gray 06 R1200RT with 6250 miles (6K service done), new rear tire, ESA, cruise, heated grips, Bill Mayer rider seat, 49 liter top case, CeeBailey windshield, warranty until 2013, tank bag and prewired for radio. (Doesn't have heated seat, but figure I can get the after-market.) The only thing is that it has been dropped on its left side once as it rolled off of the kickstand, which I read happens frequently to many people on this site. The damage is very minor with some paint scrapes, which is a cosmetic fix only. It was advertised at $13,900, but we agreed to $13,000 if I decide to buy it. (It's a private party, so it'll cost me another $1100 tax when I registered the bike.)

What do you guys think of the price?

BTW..this is a great forum, and I really appreciate everyone's advice and input.

Not a bad price considering the add-ons. If the Mayer seat does not fit you as in it is built for a taller rider, let me know.
I just paid $15400 for a loaded 07 with 10k on the clock. It has the radio/cd, alarm, JMCB-2300 DU, Piaa' s Elf Pegs, and a Backup backrest, Cee-Bailey screen and seat rebuild.
I had the large BMW trunk painted Sand Beige to match. Wow, what a difference.
The BMW tank bag's price just went up to $346. at my dealer so it is a worthwhile addition.
So your deal sounds good to me.
Keep us posted. :)

I have found that, if you take the NADA price (not KBB) and add 1/3 of the cost of the extras, you are at a pretty fair price. NADA on your bike is right at $11,600. I figure the cost new of seat, top case, tank bag and the windshield would be in the neigborhood of $1,850, so 1/3 of that would be worth about $600. which brings the value to about $12,200. A new rear tire, the 6,000 mile service and the extended warranty is worth more (in my mind at least) than 1/3, perhaps 2/3. If these things cost $1,700 you would add another $1,100 which would bring the total to $13,300. The real question is how much to subtract for the damage. Would $300 solve the problem? Sounds like you have a fair deal.
