Good Morning All,

Hope everyone had a great weekend. (I'm still waiting on tire guy to show up... different story)

Anyway, the Rider's Manual for my bike appears to be for a NON-ESA model when it talks about the headlight pre-load lever. According to the illustration, it's a white two position lever under the fairing on the left side, I think.

The only thing I see on my motorcycle is a black plasitic screw/knob-looking thing under the right side of the fairing, pretty much straight back from the right handlebar, but under the fairing.

So, knowers of all RT knowledge, is this an adjustment screw for the healight and which way does it adjust the headlight? (Righty-tighty headlight goes up? Lefty-loosey headlight goes down?) FWIW, this thing reminds me of the actual knob on the LT that does the same thing.

At the end of the day, I'd like to adjust the headlight down slightly to put more actual ligth on the road and to prevent a few high-beam flashes aimed at me while driving at night.

Thanks in advance.

I was told by my service manager the 13mm nut you found on the right side fairing was the adjuster for headlight aiming. I also know you should be able to turn it by hand but at first it is affixed somewhat and will need a 13mm wrench to turn it adequately. Aiming headlights on a bike is fun as it changes with the load on the bike. When I ride two up I can flat foot my RT and alone I am a tad higher. I assume that means my headligts seem a tad high with a "chunky" passenger. LOL

That said I have left mine as is since while it does seem a tad high when you go to high beam and the center beam comes on you can see pretty well. I'd like some running lights down on the fork lowers to see immediatly better in front for hazards. I hope I don't have to ride all that much at night anyway, it just is not as much fun

My 07 w/ESA adjust just the same as my other RT that did not have ESA.
The 13mm nut on the right, adjusts the lights left/right.
The 2 position lever on the left nut is for up/down.
You can fine tune it with the nut but the lever is there so that you can reach down and adjust , by hand, the light down if you add a load that causes the bike's rear to sag.
