removing the cd - no radio

need a little help here - i wanted some additional storage space and knew that i would not use the cd player - so i removed it from my 05, 1200rt - seemed simple enough once i got through the tupperware maze. i put a false bottom in the compartment and stashed the connectors underneath adn buttoned it all up. but now i get the "no radio" message. i thought they were not integrated - the cd & radio. any ideas?
