Can anyone recommend a good place to mount an EZ-Pass on an R1200RT where it is hidden but still fairly accessible?

How about under the removable cover plate where the radio would normally go?

Does it work from in there? Do tell! I've had mine in the RT tankbag, top cover inner zipped pocket. Of course that's only good if/when I have my tank bag.

I am talking about the thin plastic cover plate on the left upper fairing piece where the radio controls go if you have a radio. I have mine mounted low tech on my handlebars via a tie wrap, but that is because I don't want mine hidden.

I used this location for my XM, but think it would work for the EZ Pass

I have been keeping my TxTag for toll roads in my CD compartment, putting the bike on cruise when passing under and holding the txtag in my hand. I have not tried leaving it in the compartment but it is worth trying.

On the LT, I have it velcro under the windshield dead center and it words fine. a little tight on the RT but that may would work---I like it better hidden. nathan

I put it in my jacket pocket, works every time. In wet conditions you could put it in a small zip lock bag. Efficient and cheap. You will never loose it or get it stolen.

I bought a handlebar bag from Tourtech
Part Number: 047-0210bou
Handlebar Utensils Bag R1200RT

EZ Pass works great and you have room to stow glasses etc. Cost $42.00 shipped.

Ditto for me. If I leave the bike for any time, I put the pass in my jacket pocket. That way, if I forget to put the pass back in the tank bag, it still works.

I've been keeping it in the tank bag since we got it. My last three uses, it did not work. Only change was adding a few pieces of paper on top, which was what little of a map I had. I was stopped twice at the tolls, and had to pull the unit out of the bag. I don't see why that should have been a problem. Nonetheless, may have to either change that plan, or just keep the map somewhere else and see what happens. Rarely use it anyway.

I tried the in-the-pocket mode, and had a number toll failures. Tried velcro, so that the reader/activator overhead had a downward view, and didn't have a failure. Rain was a concern and problem. Since I have a RCU shelf, I bought a small Pelican case with clear top, and placed the EZPass in it. It's now waterproof, and not a problem ever. There's enough space in the case for allen wrenches, a pen...something small.
