Got about 2 miles from the Casa and sky opened up throwing buckets at me :)
Ducked under a Gas Station over hang a donned the wet gear to continue the commute.
I get the strangest looks when I arrive in the parking deck at work and start pealing the onion as it were removing all the gear. :)

A FHP Motorman (Florida Highway Patrol) on his Harley pulled along side of me on the SunCoast Parkway while stopped in traffic during the down pour. He had been riding up the Emergency Lane and slide in next to me.

Half Helmet, light rain slicker jacket and a Reflective Vest was the sum of his wet gear and he was soaked to the bone.
I raised my Helmet to speak to him while we sat there waiting for the 5 mile long Slinky to contract once again.
He said that he had just about got rear-ended a few minutes earlier and it scarred the shizit out of him.
In the hard rain we were in he and his Harley were all but invisible from the rear with a single tail light.
He commented on how bright the rear-end of the LT was and road in staggered parade formation with me until we exited the Toll Road.

So all & all a good ride! :)

Being noticed is never a priority for me, on or off the bike, but I always get a cool feeling when a motor cop acknowledges me as a fellow motorcyclist. Sounds like a cool experience on the bike this morning; a normal commute turned in some adventure points... that's one of the reasons I ride.

Being noticed is never a priority for me
The only "Notice" I'm interested in is Visibility and Conspicuity!
The Rear-End of the DragonFly stands out significantly when lit by headlights, even in the rain like this morning.

Dave,
That future GSA with its "take it to the median" option will speed up your daily commuting woes around the bay area. Especially if Mr. Mustang ever shows back up again.

Man, it was 41 degrees this morn and now 86. The road is littered with liners, heavy gloves and the neck scarf. I was soaked, too, when I got home.... from sweating.

Solas tape is my best friend, but in the frog stranglers at highway speed, even the
Solas isn't that great. Sandar the mag was following me whilst riding in a floater, nada less than 747 landing lights would help out the conspicuity. I also have some of that black reflective and the Solas wins hands down, though anything is better than nada.
