I need some help here

on my '07 gsa with abs, the front brakes suck , they have for awhile, it has the new rotors on it now, still you can easily pull the front brake lever all the way to the handle bars and not lock up the front tire at any speed or engage the abs, it feels the same with abs turned off as well

it does not feel like air in the system,
it does not pump up,
its just mushy

the back brakes are great,

this is the only bike I have owned that would ever allow you to pull the lever all the way to the bars, fluid does not compress! we know this, and that out of 5 bmws that we currently own this is the only bike that does this, not even our '89 K100RS abs does this

has anyone ran into a problem concerning the abs pump or air trapped in the system someone that could cause this symptom and yet the brake not pump up like there is air in it.
i just paid to have the brake system bled out at the dealer hoping this would solve the problem, it did not :(, I'm at a loss out of just start replacing parts.

there have never been any codes in this bike either

this is starting to feel like my LT abs problems again,

damn

First of all, my 2007 GSA is just fine, with none of the symptoms you describe.

If I was to guess, I would guess it to be the ABS pressure modulator (pump). If they bled the brakes properly and there are no bulging lines, that would be the most likely culprit. The only other component that could give the symptom you describe would be the master cylinder. As far as I have heard there have been very little problems with the Generation II braking system that is on your bike. It is a much more conventional braking system than the servo assisted brakes they were using in 2006.

Since it should be under warranty I would get it to the dealer and make them fix it. If the dealer is unable to make you brakes work like the ones on a new bike, they should involve the area technical rep.

thanks Randy, i dont think it is master cyl related, that to me would feel more like a piston cup letting fluid bypass.

it doesn't have that type of "feel" it is more like a feel of something spring loaded (heavy spring) that you can continue to compress, but it iwll not lock down at all,
I haven't rode any other 2007's, but had a new bike felt like this I would had not bought one.

The springy feel has always been an indication of air in the line and it doesn't take much. The smaller the air bubble the stiffer the "spring".

I'm not familiar with the new '07 abs system, I just know this system has a problem, I know what air feels like in a non abs non linked brake bike, its not like that believe it or not, if there is air in this system, it must be stuck in some place hard to get out, and it will not "pump up" (like air compresses and the lever gets higher)
