Hello Everyone,
There are many talking about this subject and I would like to know what your opinion is?
Keyword here is "short" in reference to the large size of the GSA.

yes we have a 2007 R1200GS Adventrure that is lowered, it is easiily done with shocks., in fact this set of lowered shocks was on her R2006 R1200GS many from the southeast area of this board have seen our lowered bikes
and they might be for sale

here pics, my wife has a 27: inseam, this GS has 2" lowered shocks built by klaus at www.epmperf.com, and a owered seat. these shocks have also been swaped over to our 2007 R1200GS Adventure, I don;t think i have any pics of it at the moment and it is back in the shop for repairs right now, but I can get pics of it in about 9 days uploaded, or if your in NE georgia I'll show you the bike

Interesting ... what height did you say your wife was again ... I notice she still does not have her heels down. I know you can learn to adapt to this ... but I guess I'm seeking a more complete solution where my heels are down...
... I'm 5'6"...
Thanks

Oh right inside leg 27" ... so 29" inch leg would probably get the heals on the ground. The shocks you suggest imply the mod was only applied to the rear shock...yeah? Which has the result of lowering the tail end...
Thanks

inseam is what matters here, hers is 27" she has short legs. the bike is light enough not to have to woprry about it, she has never dropped her GS on or off road

Nope, not a stock GSA or GS. Lowered versions they may be tolerable.

With respect, I disagree. I have a 27" inseam and owned and rode an R1100 GS that was completely stock for 11 years. I would still have it today except my wife wanted a better passenger seat for a long trip we were planning. If I recall correctly, it had a stock seat height of 29.5". I don"t know how that compares to the present day GS or GSA but it was about the tallest BMW of its day.
Needless to say, I couldn't flat foot with it but I managed ok. I'd say about the same as the lady in the picture. I'd have another one in a minute.... if I could afford to be a two bike person. Oh well, that's what dreams are for..I guess.

Yes, short riders can ride a GSIA. Don't worry about flat footing it. My inseam is 30 inches, and I can't flat foot. I take my bike everywhere, off-road etc. I feel so comfortable on my GS now, I don't even notice I can't flat foot it.
