In an effort to try and shead some light on the WIDELY varied results the members have posted on Tires, Never have I noticed any one really address the shocks on the bike contributing to wear problems

* It is a known fact that worn out shocks in Automobiles will really screw up the wear pattern and service life of the tires, so why not on bikes too ?

So here is a simple poll that may shead some light on if those whom have had non typical tire wear may be traced to bad or worn out suspension ?

I'm still using the four year old OEM shocks and have never had any problems with tyres in my 30k miles of ownership. I've used both Metzeler and Bridgestone tyres and both simply wear out. I run to the BMW pressure settings front and rear.

The only (and I do mean only) suspicion of a problem was when I went out recently in a downpour and it felt like the front wheel wasn't gripping. In other words, the bike under-steered slightly but noticeably. When I checked the tyre (a Bridgestone), the tread was right at the legal limit. I gave myself a mental dresing down because I don't normally let tyres get so worn before I swap them.
