The SO approved the purchase of an LT. Yea! I have located two 2006 LT's and need your opinion.
#1 LT is a local bike with 9600 miles and new tires. Asking Price: $17,000.
#2 LT is 1000 miles away (instant Iron Butt), with 4700 miles and no new tires. Asking Price: $15,000.
Both are cosmetically fine and in warranty.
How much should I allow for a set of new boots (don't know the size or brand)?

Hi Windman. That's great!

I install my own tires and the purchase price for a set of them was around $300 the last time.

You can find a lot of information about tires on the forum of that name. I have the Metzler 880's and get around 8,000 miles on the rear tire and almost double that on the front.

Good luck on the purchase.

At Southwest Moto Tires:
Metzeler ME880 120/70VB-17 Front = $131.95
Metzeler ME880 160/70VB-17 Rear BMW = 198.95

If you want a dealer to do it, figure a few $ more per tire and add about $100 - $125 for labor.

I get about 12K - 15K for Metz rears, and 15K+ for the fronts. Never had Bridgestones, but folks here report anywhere from 5K - 8K.

Half the milage and two thousand less. I would go for that one!
New ME 880s cost less then 400 in the US and as they say 100-125 to put them on, so you will still save 15 hundred.

But if you buy localy you may get some help if needed from local seller. And a lot easier to kick his but if it is a crap bike. :D
I would try to get the price down on the local one, show him the other one and say you will offer him 15.5 wich is about right concidering new bikes can be bought for a mere 45 hundred more!

Are the bikes identical? Do they both have same farkles: GPS, J-pegs, backrest, etc. Gotta throw that into the equation as well.
