I use a regular sports bag , I think a Nike, that you can purchase at Wally World. I hold it down with the spider type bungees. Holds lots of stuff, cheap, and works well.
God bless:

I also use the Kathy's Rack-Sack when needing extra space for a long two-up ride. We keep the rain gear, jacket liners, heavy gloves, and maps in it. Basically, light weight stuff that we may need to get to while riding. When wearing the liners, we can zip the bag down to make it shorter. Works great.
Haven't had it in any real toad-stranglers, but it has held up well to normal rain. Supposedly using some seam sealer from a local camp store makes it almost completely waterproof.

Anybody use the big bag by BMW, 51 liter? They have it at the A&S web page as use for a rack bag.

John - they make two sizes of the BMW bag, butt I'm thinking they're both pretty good size for the top trunk rack. When I've seen 'em, they've been used on the passenger seat, and they work well there. Butt, that big one IS a beeg one. Swanzy had one of those bags (not sure which size he had), so you might ping him about whether it wuz waterproof and if he liked it and would do another one.
Good luck.

I too am using Kathy's bag for the rack. My BWM dealer ordered it for me from Bob's.
It is supposedly not 100% water proof but Its been in heavy rain and all day soakers and its kept the water out. I use it for our Jacket liners, rain gear and wind breakers. Used it for one riding season. It did fade a bit from the sun but it's held up good.

I use Cee Bailey's 24 Lt top rack bag. See at http://www.ceebaileys.com/bags/bmwbagsel.html#1200ltrack ; High quality and good price at $79.
For long haul solo rides I use a "Navigator Series" high quality waterproof roll bag that I bungy to the passenger seat. Bag is offered in three sizes, see at http://www.duffelbags.com/waterproof.htm ; I use the medium (MDNAV) which sells for $55. I can put an extra pair of shoes, 2x jeans, 3x shirts, underwear and bathroom kit into this bag and I guarantee you nothing will ever get wet, even if submerged.

I like this bag. I sealed all the seams with tent seam sealer. Been in three frog stranglers since and never had anything in the bag get wet. :) If I don't have a pillion, then I strap it to the rear seat to keep the CG a little lower.
YMMV
