I did make it up to Mineral Point WI this weekend for the Moto Guzzi rally. There were a lot of BMW bikes there as well. I used the rally as a mid-way point to get in some Southwestern WI riding.
The Mindoro Cut is a nice, but a short route that features tightly linked curves with posted speed warnings of 15-20mph. I took a picture of "Oh-Kay" at the historic sign that states the "Cut" is the second known largest man made rock cut in the US. It's 74 feet high and 25 feet wide.
The highlight for me was getting there. I used the http://www.wisconsinmotorcycling.com website to find this route:County P (http://www.wisconsinmotorcycling.com/maps/sw/p.php)
that provides narrow valley roads that never stop curving and very stunning scenery. I'm looking forward to doing it again this fall when the leaves change color.
Have fun,
Jer
