I've seen posts for tech sessions all over, but none for any where near. I live just south of Indianapolis and I'm ready to tackle my 36,000. Anybody within resonable distance interested?

We're in Sturgis, SD right now. Be home later this month. I've got a garage and most of the tools, no lift. I'm about as far south of Indy as you are north. Have you done much in the way of maintenance on the LT so far? I've done an oil change and had some of the tupperware off to install a centech fuse panel and some electronics.

billld and I are from Lafayette, and I am pretty sure he and I would be willing to attend one, depending on when and where.

I'm located in the Attica area (somewhat near Lafayette) and would be interested in participating also.

Bill and I have been doing our own service. We did my 24000 service, and his 12000 service not long ago. We have a lift we purchased together, and he has lots of tools. Plus he is very knowledgeable about wiring and technical and mechanical things. He has helped me install moto light, and HID, the canesterectomy, extend the tour pack an additional inch over and above the longest one, done wings of gold etc. We have been to demo's to flush the brakes, and he has a kit to do the weep hole--but we haven't had time to do them on either bike yet. Sometime in the next few months we are going to do my 48000 mile service. Again, depending on when (and I haven't talked to him about this) I am sure he would love to attend a tech session. I am not sure about hosting one though, because we have limited space in our garages.

I'd be interested in attending, not because of any mechanical skills I have (read "none") but just for the ride and to meet some folks. I'm about 3 hours from Indy, and if you don't mind a non-Hoosier in attendance I may show up if you have a tech session.

Would make a nice ride for me, I might attend if the timing is right.

I'm on the northside of Indy. Would love to get together with others. Got too many tools, got a cheap lift (use on my HDs, never had the BMW on it). Willing to travel, throw tools, lose fastners, spill fluids, you name it.

I live in Sullivan, and I am not much of a mechanic, but i could tell lies while you guys work. Let me know when you get together.

Sure didn't know we had so many LT'ers in the neighborhood. I've got room to work on at least three bikes at a time. No lift however, but I do have most ofthe tools needed. I'm still in Sturgis, SD. Will be home by the 12th or 13th of the month. Give me time to clean out the garage and I'll PM each of you to set a date.
Thanks for the interest.

Guys, jrlakin has posted we have a pretty fair level of expertise and as I have our lift in my garage, and access to a second lift down the street.. I might be able to offer a tech session at m place.. I have just about any tool we might need, and after CCR we hopefully will have experienced a weep hole demo, and even have that possibility in the skill list. The only limit is I have a 2 bay garage with my toy car up on a 4 post lift on one side.. but sure can clear out most of the area and I think we can setup 2 lifts and of course the driveway for more.. If you guys are interested I suspect sometime shortly after CCR would not be a problem! Getting to meet a bunch of the area LT'ers would be cool as well .. What do you think. billd

I'm sure at least one of us would volunteer to get the toy car out of the way for you... just to create more space of course.

Lafayette is more do-able for me as I live up north by the lake and I have some (limited) knowledge of electrical hook-ups and should be ready for some service if the session is after CCR. I will be returning the week after...say around the 5th of Sept.
I will keep checking for the date. :bmw:

Let me know on the date as well. I am in Russiaville, just west of Kokomo. I need to do the weep hole thing and finish installing my tire pressure sensors. (I got the rear tire done since I had to change tires, still need to mount the front one and install the monitor). Weekends of 9/20 or 9/27 work well for me. Got tractor pulls most of the other weekends until then.
I did the 36K service on mine (the one that you change the timing chain guide) a while ago. I am a software engineer by trade, but have BS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering and have work in the automotive industry pretty much my entire professional life.
I do have a 24x45 shop plus a two car garage if the space is needed. I have a car lift, but no M/C lift. I also have tons of tools, including a few I made myself.

Any update on the tech session?
I have a new GT that needs a fuse box and some extra lights..
I am electrically challenged and don't want to mess up the can-bus system..

Count me in! I live in Greenwood and would like to meet with other LT owners in my area and soak up some of their experiences with the big girl.

I would definately be up for it; if nothing else but just to meet people. Of course if I don't get my bike back soon, that might be my only choice... :(

I don't mean to hijack this thread but are any of you Indy riders planning to attend the MotoGP race or the mile race at the fairgrounds????

Unless I get shipped out to Death Valley that week, I'm planning on attending at least one day. Being the inaugural one, hard to say what parking will be like, but I can get free parking passes about a block south of the track if anyone's coming.
