Can't get the glove box open, unlocked with key & remote. The button won't go down, any ideas.

Howdy, Elton!
I had that problem on my bike when I put too long a screw into the tupperware near the latch.
I found I had to press down on the latch while pressing the unlock button then replaced the correct length screw. Never failed again.
Did this work?

Yep, to clarify a bit: It is the left screw next to the lock that needs to be replaced with a shorter one. This seems to be a common problem. The too long screw is obviously interfering with the lock solenoid somehow.
So keep pressing the lock while you command the remote at the same time. It should pop right open after few tries...
Good luck

Could very well be the screw, the dealer had it apart last week to replace the radio. I can't get it open to check. The key is unlocked with the slot vertical, right? I fiddled with it so much I can't remember. I know I need to go back to the dealer with it, just trying to avoid that if I can. I think a small C-4 charge in the right spot would get it.

ok, here is how the BMW tech opened mine up (after they put the long screw in the left side).
take the butt end of a screwdriver, and put it over the lock mechanism. give it a moderately sharp rap with a small hammer. it will pop right open. I tried it several times, and it does work in a pinch.

I'm in, you gotta love it when you have to use a hammer on a high tech machine. By the way the hammer butt works no matter what position the key is in. It didn't have a long screw in it, it gets stuck even if I leave the screws out. It's OK as long as I don't lock it until I can get to the dealer. Even with the door open, if I lock it the latch gets stuck. Thanks for the quick help, next time no matter what the problem is I'll try a hammer first.

The oddments box lock is opposite from the saddlebag and trunk locks. That means it is unlocked with the key in the horizontal position.

I had a very similar problem with my '05 after getting the radio replaced.
When I finally got into the box and puzzled over it for quite a time, I realized it is the bar the pushes into the locking cam. It is held by one larger screw and the bar just needed to be repositioned a bit so the bar was in a slightly different position. I can't remember now it if was higher or lower. Once I got it figured out and a judicious shot of blue loctite haven't had another problem since then.
FWIW - YMMV
