Thoughts from across the pond.
An email from Ireland to the brethren in the States...a point to ponder despite your political affiliation: 'We, in Ireland , can't figure out why people are even bothering to hold an election in the United States .On one side, you have a pants wearing lawyer, married to a lawyer who can't keep his pants on, who just lost a long and heated primary against a lawyer who goes to the wrong church who is married to yet another lawyer who doesn't even like the country her husband wants to run.
Now...On the other side, you have a nice old war hero whose name starts with the appropriate Mc terminology, married to a good looking younger woman who owns a beer distributorship. What in Lords name are ye lads thinking over there in the colonies??

Somehow I think our founding fathers are not very happy with the current explaination of democracy. It has been a long time since we actually has a decent candidate to vote for.

Saw a bumper sticker a few yaers ago & tried in vain to catch the vehicle it was on to ask where they got it. Never caught them, damn it! The sticker said "Don't vote... it only encourages them!"

It really is surreal isn't it? I'm absolutely dumbfounded that Barry Hussein is front running contender for the President of this country, or any other for that matter. What the hell has he done? Community Organizer? THAT qualifies him to be President? BAH. Supposedly he's a "Constitutional Lawyer" yet, he misrepresents the 2nd amendment, and would like to amend or delete it altogether. Additionally, he is obviously is a Socialist - which means he cannot possibly be in full support of our Constitution even if he professes to be an expert of it. He has more flip flops than Virginia Beach when the Jelly fish come in.
And McCain? He's a living war hero, no doubt about it. I have great respect for the man. But really? He's the BEST we have? Really?
BAH.
He doesn't represent my views on key issues, and is too old to be seriously considered. This election will be even more painful than Bush vs Kerry was and I honestly thought that was the worst possible.

You know, I keep seeing and hearing the term "colonies" used to refer to the U.S. They still think they "own" us and have a say in what goes on here, talk about living in the past.

I thought that had been U.S. foreign policy for the past 60 years.

Damn right, and as a starter we are going to increase your gas prices to match those we pay over here, Oh and then we are going to ship over some of our crappy weather, you need some rain, we have far too much which gets in the way of our bike riding. :) . Once these items have been put in place, we shall ban that crap you call beer ;) , and ship over some real ale and vast quantities of the black stuff for you to drink. :histerica :histerica

I've had what you call "beer". In fact I once drank a case of Hannen Alt and pissed a case of guinness..and as far as McEwans.....We use it for tar in asphalt on our roads.
You can keep your crappy weather and high taxes too.
