So after some 13,000miles this year on this 2000 LT I am having a wrist issues. I also ride a dual sport KLR and don't know which persuasions aggravate the sore wrist more?

My question is how do I determine if my throttle cable is in need of replacement. I did the silicon lube treatment with no huge success.

Today grabbed a 98, 950 KTM throttle and it was way smoother. Also my klr seems to be smoother. So is there a test? Cruise works fine. I hate this getting older scenario but would like to eliminate the throttle cable issue.

Any thoughts from the SR. riders would be of help. Did I Say senior members??

Thanks for your help.

go to a dealer, test the throttle on a newer bike.( 05 and newer) if it feels much easier then yours then get the cables changed out. If you are decent at wrenching, order your parts and do the change out yourself, or get the dealer to do it for you.
