Hi all!
I am BMW lover from Finland. I have K1200S Turbo for for fun and K1200LT for driving long distance.
I have had K1200LT 2000 3 years. Without any problems. It's been driven some 36000 km now (20000 miles).
I have bought a 2004 LT, 10.600 km (7000 miles) in it. It was salvage, so I was not able to check it when I bought it. Damage was minor and mechanical, just needed to change front forks.
But I found out that:
-radio is not working. I can switch it on and off, but nothing else works. Same with CD player. I have been reading that this has been some kind if typical problem in BMW: water going into radio. Ok. I checked it and I saw that there has been water going into radio through rubber button. Radio pcb is visually to be seen taht it is damaged because of water. Has anyone got it replaced under warranty?
-cruise is not working. Might be my own mistake. Loose connector? I am working with it at the moment.
-alarm system stopped working. I t does not regognize anything when I push remote control buttons. Luckily I was at home when this happened. I have understood that it has been a common problem as well. I got good adwice from this forum how to pass by it and now I am able to drive my bike. I checked from local dealer if this would be under warranty. NO! Last one under warranty is produced May 2004 and mine is June 2004. Great! So, has anyone got newer repaired under warranty?
