I am amazed by the amount of facts that can be gathered from this forum. Some of it antidotal, some factual, and some that should be taken FWIIW. The point to this story is recently I read a post about smoke on start up. My Y2K LT, 98 K12RS, and 03LT all smoked when placed on the side stand overnight. No big deal, just part of owning a K bike.
A recent fact stated to turn off the engine hold the bike up right or lean it slightly to the right for 30 seconds before placing it on the side stand. I have practiced this procedure since reading the post and DAAAAAA not near as much smoke.
