Well,
I should have checked with you guys BEFORE putting BattleAxes on my LT. They handled great out of the box but, thats about it. Just 4000 miles and they look like I've been entering all of the burnout contests at the harley rallys. Any suggestions???

Be sure to keep the pressure up; 42 - front and 48 - rear.
My front lasts about 6k miles and the rear 10k miles in mixed riding conditions including a lot of stop and go in L.A.

I've generally been happy with mine. Look forward to how you like your replacements (Metzelers?).

My 2009 came with them on, and I am very pleased @ 3,000 mi.
I will be going to the 021's when it's time.
I hear the BS 021's really do well???
I had Avon Storms on my '06 KGT. I still like these BS's better.

Hmmmm, I went with the BSes on price mainly. And I'm not putting on a ton of miles at this poiint, so they should last me a while, calendar-wise. I only put the rear on, with the ME880 still on front since it had a lot of life left and the new BS doesn't have that much more tread than the ME880. The new tire sure does make a difference in the way the bike acts. Of course the old me880 was flat around the middle, so that is no surprise. I do hope to get more than 4K out of them though. I figure if I get 10 k out of the rear and 6 K out of the front when I replace it, I should be looking for a new set again at the same time.
4 k isn't a lot of miles. At this point, you;re gonna have to have new ones anyway, so sounds like time to go to the Metzes and keep the pressure up.
Good luck
Randy

I put over 13,000 miles on the first ME880 (front tire) and still had some tread left but I was going on a 4000 mile trip and did not want to change the tire on the road. I kept the pressure up at 42. The rear was a different story as I only got 8000 miles out of it. Most of the mileage was one up and pulling a trailer. As for the second rear tire I have over 8000 miles on it and it still looks very good with a fair amount of tread left -- my guess is about 4000 more miles. Both rear tires I kept at 48 psi. I am very Happy with the ME880's and will stick with them ( until the make a radial that fits the 1200)
Just my 2 cents

I worked at a hospital by you today. Riverdale, GA.
I am 140 miles north on a twisty road close to US129.
If you want to get the tires, I will mount them for you.
You just have to have them shipped here.
I have a set of ME880's that I will sell you from http://swmototires.com/
It was 199.00 for the rear and 132.00 for the front.
Then you can hit the twisties home to scrub them.

Anyone notice that they put BMW next to the rear tire.
