So it is.............Topwater grill, August 9th at Noon. This will be our last RTE before CCR so lets all make an effort to make it ;) This is in between The Kemah Boardwalk and Galveston if people are interested in sticking around.

Heck yeah!! Come on and join us . . . the more the merrier!!! If you want to ride out with some of us in the Garland/Rowlett area we can meet you somewhere so you don't have to ride alone. We usually have 3 to 7 bikes leaving from that area and pick up some along the way. Just cut and paste your name to the list so we know how many are comin!

David, if you are truely trying to work on your GPS mapping skills you really need to pick a place that is a little further away than your backyard. :histerica I know it may be challenging, but it will help you hone those skills.

If you have an idea on where you want to stay (nearby attractions), I can suggest some places to look into.
Between having NASA, Kemah Boardwalk and all the petro-chem industry in the area there is no shortage of hotels with a wide range of rates and expectations.

For example, there is a Holiday Inn Express in Seabrook, and a Days Inn in Kemah.

There were about 12 of us in attendance enjoying the Seafood cuisine offered by the
Top Water Grill in San Leon. Dave and Paula Kinsey had to runaway early to
attend a wedding, but the event was a good time had by all. A few of the participants
even acknowledged that they were planning to go to CCR.

I did take pictures, but it may be a few days before I can get them uploaded
and linked.

We didn't have any Griff sightings so I hope he didn't get lost.

When it came time for desert, everyone opted to call it a meal. They did have
a Pecan pie and and Turtle Cheesecake on the menu, but I just couldn't pull the
trigger.

make it a Sunday this time. Since Aug RTE was moved to Saturday for gina and she was a no show. Let's try Sunday. Maybe Floyd will give us a good Cajun restaurant.

danLoosyanna would have to be an overnighter. Sunday might throw those that have to work Monday off their feed some. We've had a real nice one in Nachit... oh hell, I can't spell, but is sounds like Nackitish. Then we did one and threw in a casino. I'm staying out of casinos after that one, but there was a real nice food place.

I think that was the Clear Spring restaurant in Nacadoches. Close enough to Dallas for The Pie lady to maybe show up.

Actually, we did the Clear Springs gig with Ron Kellenbenz as head RTE'er. Then, we did the Natchitoches gig in LA with Jim McCullin as head RTE'er. The one Grif is sprecken of is the one in LA. That one brought in folks from Alabama and Tennessee, as well as LA and Tejas. Norwood and Fletcher made it, along with Wolfgang (where were you from then, Wolfgang? Atlanta?). Good times at that one; going thru several plantation tours. Definitely an overnighter, or two!!!

Sure seems like we didn't have any of the really rowdy players at this one. Ya know,
no one jumping in front of the camera, sticking Steeks into things, or tossing
waitresses into the water...

Now wait a minute here . . . The Pie Princess didn't show cause Mr. Pie had to work and since I don't have my own bike I am at the driver's mercy. Chew on his A$$ for awhile (cause I sure did). I didn't see anyone posting that they would make the long journey on a bike to pick me up and bring me!! (Uh, Jerry, this is where you keep your mouth shut and play dumb like we weren't together - remember you blew our cover last time.) Now I find it hard to believe that no PIE was even tasted at this event. I will say that in my books it wasn't an RTE if there was not PIE eaten. David I am ashamed of you for letting this happen - I just knew that you would keep up the tradition. Hmmmm you let me down. When I finish with Jerry I shall move on to you.

Glad all who attended had a wonderful time. Thanks for the update, looking forward to the pictures.

I lived in Houston than... Richmond to be exact. I know its hard to keep up with me. :)

Would anybody be interested in coming back to the Cleveland area. I saw a post a while back about the 50 best Bar B Q. There is a place here that I stack up with any I've ate anywhere. I can set it up, but they are not open on Sunday. The owners said if I let him know he would be sure to have PIE (although his cobbler is great). The down side to this place is it will almost be a WTE for me. All of you speak up and let me know.
