This Saturday morning, 12 July 2008.

Join me for 7:00 AM breakfast with the folks from Brown Motor Works in Pomona. There is a small coffee shop across the street, where they meet every Saturday morning.

Next, ride out to Chaparral in San Bernardino. Chaparral is a huge motorcycle and motorcycle accessory store. After that, you're on your own.

Enjoy the early morning coolness. Anyone interested?

(It's something I've been planning to do for a while, but other things kept getting in the way.)

Well, the responses aren't flying into this thread. That's okay; originally this was just a solo ride...

The last RTE, a lot of people just showed up. If you're that kind of person, here is some useful information:

If you're late, that's okay, but the others will order and eat without waiting. The coffee shop is across the street from Brown Motor Works.

If you are coming from the south (e.g., Orange County) and you like twisties, consider taking Carbon Canyon Road. There is very little traffic at that time of the morning. Take 57 North, exit at Lambert (right turn). Lambert turns into Carbon Canyon Road (about 6 miles of twisties).

If you choose to take Carbon Canyon Road, here is how I did it the last time:
1. Head east on CA-142/Carbon Canyon Rd toward Ruby St. 6.1 mi
2. Turn left at Chino Hills Pkwy 3.6 mi
3. Continue on Phillips Ranch Rd 0.4 mi
4. Turn right at Rio Rancho Rd 1.2 mi
5. Turn left at Auto Center Dr 0.3 mi
6. Continue on S White Ave 1.3 mi
7. Turn right at W Mission Blvd. 52 ft

After breakfast and a break to look around at Brown Motor Works, I am planning to ride out to Chaparral in San Bernardino:

CHAPARRAL MOTORSPORTS -- Saturday hours: 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
555 S H St.
San Bernardino, CA 92410
http://www.chaparral-racing.com/
Nationwide Toll Free: 800-841-2960
Local: 909-889-2761
Customer Service: 909-889-1302

(From Brown Motor Works)
1. Head east on W Mission Blvd toward S Cypress St 1.0 mi
2. Turn left at S Towne Ave 1.6 mi
3. Slight right to merge onto I-10 E toward San Bernardino 25.6 mi
4. Take the exit onto I-215 N toward Barstow/San Bernardino 2.3 mi
5. Take the exit toward SBD Airport/Mill St 0.2 mi
6. Turn right at S H St 70 ft

I won't be joining you David. Have fun. I don't know what's with all the directions, though. Doesn't everybody have a GPS by now?

The directions were just a courtesy. Because I called the RTE, I felt responsible to provide the information in case someone needed them.

The KGT doesn't have a GPS. Maybe someday.

We'll see you at the next ride.
