Changed my tires this weekend and used Dynabeads for balancing the front and rear tires. They work, and work well. I got them from a local repair shop and was charged...$10 for 2 two ounce kits. Not a bad deal, couldn't have anyone balance a pair of tires for $10.

I bought a set of them from the company web site and now have 3500 miles on the tires. The ride is very smooth and the tires are wearing evenly. I will be using them again when I change tires. :thumb:

:thumb: for Dyna Beads...been using them for the past 10,000+ miles. And they will work with the Smart Tire pressure monitors.

I installed my beads last weekend as well as the Smartire system.
I have been using DynaBeads from Innovative Balancing for several years in my Jeep and truck.

Yes indeed they work. Having recently joined the Dynabead ranks, all I can say is thumbs-up...they work great. :) My LT had a slight vibration at highway speeds, but I wasn't due for tires just yet, and didn't feel like taking them in for balancing. So, I figured I'd give this stuff a try. If you are thinking of doing this, don't bother buying the filtered valve cores. They're too long and won't fit.
They recommend 2 ounces of beads per wheel, but I bought the 16 oz. bag (wanted extra to do more than just two wheels). I used a 30" length of clear vinly tubing (I think it was 5/16" or 3/8" dia.) to install them.
Rotate wheel so valve stem is at 6 o'clock position.
Remove valve stem to let air out of tire.
Plug one end of the clear vinyl tubing, and fill tubing with the appropriate amount of Dynabeads (2 oz. in each wheel for us LT'rs).
Place open end of tubing over valve stem (can use a zip tie to secure it if it's not a snug fit).
Raise the tubing ever so slightly to allow the beads to slowly trickle in. Go slow...else the beads will get clogged up and you have to tap the stem to get 'em dislodged.
Replace valve core and fill with air.
Instructions tell you to remove all wheel weights. I was skeptical at first to do this...so I removed one at a time. Low and behold, the ride was smooth as could be every step of the way. So, this sort of begs the question....why remove them at all, as it doesn't seem that they're hurting anythying.
For what it's worth, here is some more info on Dynabeads….which I learned today appears to be nothing more than simple zirconium oxide milling/grinding media. Link to the company that sells/markets them - http://www.innovativebalancing.com/index.html
And here’s a pretty good You-Tube video demonstrating the physics at work http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eq263AYgyYg
And finally, if want some good bedtime reading, here’s a ADVRuder forum post with about 10 pages worth of replies. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=353020&page=1
Lots of nay-sayers in that post, but none that actually tried the product. Anybody who has actually tried ‘em (like me) was convinced. It is some good reading though…although they get off topic once or twice bashing each other. The video that is linked at the end, is the same one I linked above.
In closing, while they seem to work great, I do still have concerns about getting the tire serviced inthe future, and about the possibility of getting one of these beads stuck in the valve core (so as to cause a slow leak). But, I’ll just be careful when I check the tire pressure, or add air…and will need to try to remember to notify the technician that they’re in the tire when I get new tires installed.
Cheers, Toolman

I use Ride-On TPS for the Hydrostatic balancing as well as the Puncture Sealing.
The Beads are great for just balancing.

Hey all;
yes they work great. How do you guys get them out to reuse in a new tire?
Maybe a silly question.

ZekeI have not done it with Dyna Beads...but with the liquid Ride-On stuff, before I take a tire/wheel in to the dealer to change the tire I drill a hole in the tire & drain it...I don't reuse the Ride-On, it looks pretty yucky...so I guess you could do the same with Dyna Beads.
