CCR Reunion

I'm new to this web site and the LT. I have signed up for this years CCR Reunion in Utah. Anyone making a 4 day trip to there from the northwest? I live in the Seattle area.

welcome to our corner of the list Danny! Yes, there are several of us heading to CCR. The trick is to coordinate when the departures and arrivals are going to be. I'm sure others will chime in here when they get a chance. Hope to see you soon at a RTE or Tech Session!

Thanks for the reply. It brings forth a few more questions since I'm a newbie. What are RTE's? When are the Tech Sessions? Are there organized rides in the Northwest area?

RTE:
Ride to Eat.

Tech Session:
When several of us get together to work on one or several Bikes. If you need help, ask for assistance with any of the typical maintenance tasks on the LT, or other Bikes.

As far as organized rides, not too often. But you will often see folks posting spontaneously asking if anyone wants to ride.

Just watch for any or all of them to be posted here! Or toss out an invite yourself.

You'll LOVE CCR! I'm not going to make it this year, but have been most prior years, and it really is a wonderful event.

A WARNING, however: it will cost you FAR more than you think it's going to, because you will see hundreds of other LTs decked out with farkles (think "bling" for bikes) you didn't know existed...but suddenly can't live without. :D Worse yet, there will be vendors there who will actually sell/install the stuff on your bike on the spot!! :cool:

So whatever you do, LEAVE YOUR CREDIT CARDS AT HOME!! :eek:

Seriously, though, welcome to the group - you'll find bmwlt.com a wonderful resource with great people (and not just us fellow Pacific Northwet ones!) - it's really grown to be a community of its own...a wonderful group of kindred spirits. Of course, there are also a few a-holes, but you'll quickly identify them and start ignoring them. ;)

Welcome, Danny -

There are several of us from the Vancouver/Portland area heading to CCR, with most arriving Monday or Tuesday. I don't know how firm most travel plans are yet. We'll look for you there if we don't connect along the road somewhere.

Come on Bruce - ya gotta have farkles!! Danny, you will definitely be challenged to guard your credit card, but the CCR folks set up a UPS service that will let you buy those things you just can't do without and ship them home if you are already loaded up. You will be tempted. Take a serious look at the tech sessions offered. The LT tech session (they did a 12K service) where you could sit and watch the mondo techs start from scratch and finish a 12K was one of the high lights of the event for me.
