Hey everyone,

I am leaving on a long trip through Colorado and New Mexico this Sunday. I purchased a Sirius radio for the trip and I would like to hard wire the unit in and not use the cig lighter power method.

Does anyone know a place in Houston that would sell one of these? I will check Best Buy tonight, not sure if they would have one or not.

Thanks
Sean

Might check Rat Shack, Sean. Or, if you have an AlTex shoppe in your 'hood. They are an electronics retailer, where you can buy stuff to build your own electronic items. Pretty much electronics, without the toys and play items RS carries. Good luck, and have a great trip - ride safe.

Another option is to just buy the female cigarette plug. Hardwire it, slip a piece of bicycle inner tube over it after it's plugged together and zip tie the ends. The whole package can be zip tied to the frame behind the tupperware where the mirrors latch- lots of room there.

All of this can be accomplished by simply removing the windshield and cowling. If you don't have dedicated, switched power run to the front of the bike, you can tap into the parking light.

OR take the cig plug apt, tap into the contacts with a few ft of wire and hook it up to switched power (or a switch, in my case) and hide the package under the t-ware. Same-o without the need to buy a female plug.

Same-o without the need to buy a female plug.Yeppir, solder right to it. Just remember to add some kind of disconnects to the wires because eventually you'll be taking it apart to do some other kind of fun project.

I installed it for a ride to Colorado and it was the best farkle I have added. Never lost a signal, even at 12000 feet in the moutains.
