In case anybody is heading to northern Montana, don't expect to ride across the famous road through Glacier until at least early July. Crews are still plowing toward the summit, but have been slowed by a late, wet, cool spring. Highway 2 across the southern tip of the park is still an option, but not nearly as scenic!

Thanks for the update Gary. I keep missing it myself. Landslides or snow. Hopefully this summer.

Status reports would be valuable: we'll be there around July 12.

I am heading there Thursday, I figure if I can't ride it the whole way I hit it as far as I can from both ends.

Look for the NPS Park Ranger in the Big White Excursion, my G-ride on duty when I am not on my LT!

I'd love to meet some of you in person as this forum has been a lot of help over the last year ater I bought my first BMW. I'll give you the inside scoop if you look me up!

Have fun up there guys, wish I could join you !!

So when I get to the gate, I'll be asking ....Where's Gary?
I'd like to get that inside scoop.
I plan to spend a few nights at Two Medicine and maybe a few over at Apgar.

Same here,
We will be in Saint Marys on the 21st and 22nd. Me and 2 other bikes, a Honda and a Tiger. I am still deciding on whether to take my new to me LT (had it 2 days, ridden it 10 miles) or my Indian Spirit with 70k miles on it.

Unless I am responding to a big event, you won't find me at St Mary, Two Med, or Many Glacier. I am primarily stationed on the west side based out of my office in Apgar (across the street from the Public Boat Dock).

I hope you have the chance to say hello, especially if on your bike, as I want the see your 'farkles' to help me decide what more I want to do to my bike!

Any change in the progress being made in clearing the road? A better estimate on when it'll open?

As of yesterday it was still closed.

I meant to address my question to MosBMR: I've been tracking the Park road website daily, and the closed portion is not changed. Thus I was asking for any more specific projections on its opening so that I can do my planning for our visit on 11-12 July.
