Here are a couple I took and "worked" with Photo Shop for fun. Anyone got any others? Not necessarily BMW?
Both shot with Canon 40D.

Great galleries. Was the Hawaii KTM a rental?
Yep - although I liked it such much, I promptly bought a KTM when I got home. It was good for under a thousand miles. If I lived on Maui, the KTM would be spectacular. But... I live in Illinois - it's flat. Long rides on an ok/less than ok comfort bike for long rides just suck. I decided to sell. I did. I haven't looked back. Although if I could have an unlimited # of bikes, I would have a KTM.
My latest wood is the Gear Up from ural.com. :)

I like that. Good job:yeah::thumb:
Thanks :)
I started from this picture (a bit flat and busy):
http://demolitioncrew.altervista.org/_altervista_ht/step0.jpg
I darkened the area around the bike and "multiplied" the image to have more contrast:
http://demolitioncrew.altervista.org/_altervista_ht/step1.jpg
And finally I applied a photoshop "styling" filter to enhance borders
If you want to put it on your desktop, here's the higher resolution version (1280px)
http://demolitioncrew.altervista.org/_altervista_ht/BMW_K1200LT_Style_1280.jpg
It's great when centered on a black background
Enjoy!

Hope these come out.........
The first one is the first ever shot that I played with....not too bad.
The 2nd was while I was waiting for a ferry boat ride home in Bremerton Wa.
The 3rd was out in the middle of nowhere....set the shutter at Minimum aperture with slow shutter....and then hit the button as I walked toward the bike.
The 4th is just a favorite of mine......KOA campground in South Dakota I think.
The 5th I really played with the surrounding scenery and left the bike alone.
Awww yes....#6.....minutes after I was hit on my '97 RT 3 years ago next month. The gomer in the stocking hat is trying to move my bike.....he's also the guy who hit me. No insurance...no license........

Wow... the 4th is great :D
I like the 1st and 5th as well, nice effect. What program did you use to retouch the pictures?
The transition zones between "clear" and "retouched" areas are maybe too sharp, if you use photoshop you can activate the "quick mask" mode and use a soft brush / air brush to create a selection mask with gradual transition between the areas, then apply the filters on the selection

It was either Photoshop or Microsoft. I don't remember. Will try take your suggestion and see what I can do, thanks.
#2 was part of a panoramic. The original was something like 7 seperate shots....or was it 11?? I forget....

Yes it was me, ya only need your hand on the throttle anyway! I have a lanyard set up that I use for on the bike that lets me shoot down low or backwards and if I need to let go of the camera it just dangles.

From the pic filenames:
1) Oregon Pass
2) Border Montana/Canada (I guess somewhere near the Glacier Nat.Park)
3) Montana, Glacier National Park (you can spot the Wild Goose Island on St Marys Lake)
4) Yosemite park, CA
Now let's wait the real answer from Joe and see how close I guessed :D

Either Ride Is A Great Ride Compared To Here In New Jersey
Yeah, it's a great place for a ride.
I drove through Canada (AB & BC) and USA (WA, ID & MT) in summer '07 in a 3-weeks round-trip based in Calgary and couldn't get enough of it. I need to go back again and rent a Bike for the trip... I want to get wet :D
What's the best way to rent a motorbike in the US/Canada?
Harleyujoe
Dec 8th, 2008, 10:54 am
There Are Several Ways To Rent...i Own A Harley And 2007 Rt.
I Rent Harley Full Dressers Every Year Through Harley Rental Program For 100 Per Day. Unlimited Mileage.
And Find This To Be The Most Inexpensive Way.
I Know In Back Of Magazines There Are Different Rental Places.
You Need Credit Card As Your Insurance Deposit..
Hope This Helps You..joe In Nj
