Help with maintenance in Dallas before trip.

Just got my LT six months ago. I'm taking a trip in two weeks with my son to Tail of Dragon. I need to change oil and I'm guessing coolant and brake flush. I'm looking to find someone that can walk me through this so I can learn and do on my own in the future.

I live in Lewisville and come to you. Just can't make it down to the tech session on the 14th.

Most of the folks that could are at the Tech session today. The other guy who used to live up near you that held tech sessions in your area just moved to Austin. Not sure who else is up there that could get you through it, cause most of us always go to the tech sessions to get it done. Keep checking though. Someone might get a whole in their schedule who has the mech. knowhow to get you through it.

Guess nobody is either available or interested. Hate to spend $$ at BMW dealer but gotta get it done before going on trip.

I wouldn't do coolant and brake flush on an '05 yet. Wait till at least this fall.
Oil Change: Put a pan under it. Slowly loosen the 3 bolts holding the oil filter cover on.
Let it drain,remove cover,replace filter,replace cover,put in 3.8 qts of your favorite.
Go enjoy your ride.

Thanks Dan! I met up with Dean on Saturday at his house in Corinth and we did oil and final drive. I'll mess with the other two this fall. Besides....it's too hot!

Brake & clutch fluids were just done, won't need that again for a while. Coolant should be easy but, I wouldn't worry about it before the trip. Oil change is simple, remove the 3 allen head srews on the round cover plate, the oil will drop out & you will see the filter. Change the filter, replace the cover, just snug the screws, don't over tighten, dump in 4 quarts, ride it like you stole it!
