Changed lanes on a 4 lane surface street last night and rode straight into a massive pothole....dusk..couldn't see it. 2 inch crease in the front wheel. Who knows whatever else front end damage. Managed to stay upright but just barely.

Anyone have a front wheel for sale or a lead on where to get one without paying BMW retail?

Is it just me or are road conditions worse then usual.....may have to just ride my GS and pretend I'm on fire roads all day..

They are also available on eBay. I see them quite frequently. And you may even want to check with a local company to see if they can repair it. Many others have repaired similar problems.

brought it to the dealer and they quoted $850 for the wheel.....probably get 30% off of that but still. They also said repairing it is not a good idea as they can shatter later on if they have been heated...any body have an opinion on this?

Could be. I had one straightened on a K1100LT I used to have and used it for another 60,000 miles.
