I recently bought a new 2008 LT and there was only a screwdriver and some fuses for the tool kit. Is that it or should there be more? My dealer said thats all that comes with it.

I bought my new 2005 LT in Brazil.
At that moment the tool kit was the same you have.
I guess they no longer provide tool kitīs since 2005.

Yeah, part of some cost-savings initiative. You can refer to the old toolkits at the RealOEM.com parts fiche, and use that as a base for your own kit. Linky is here.

For tire punctures, think about ignoring the CO2 cart kits and getting an air pump. Cheap, and you should have room for it.
Enjoy.

Thats it. And even that is half-assed. IF the screwdriver has both a slot tip and cross-slot tip, you CAN use the cross-slot tip on the amber turn signal lens covers. The slot tip - not so much. Another cost-cutting, and dwindling-reputation move by the folks that brought you failing final drive units, and EWS failures, and ...... ('scuse me, I gotta back away from the keyboard!! ).

Never to fear. You can find lots of ideas in the threads on supporting vendors and after awhile the "what if" feeling which will be replaced by the "geez this bike runs great!" feeling. It took me awhile to get over it too but I actually have always augmented the so-called tool kits that came with my various bikes with my own tool choices. By the way, my dealer, whom I think is excellent, didn't tell me when I bought my LT there was no tool kit. It's kinda funny they still give you the empty pouch though. Must be lost in translation. Best of luck. Just ride it.
'05 LT still a newbie

I built a new toolkit for my '06. It's not that expensive if you want to go that route. A search on the forum for toolkit will bring up lots of information on how to find or what to get for it. I think I built a better than stock one for less that $100 and that included lots of tools and a new tool bag (another $35, and not really needed I just liked it).

Lack of a tool kit is pretty weak on BMW's part, considering a $20k+ MSRP for a new LT...

My 2005 LT came with a big fat BMW tool kit - basically what my former 1999 LT came with. I've added a couple of small items to it and I admit I have not used all that it contains!
