I tore my LT down for some repairs last week. I installed a new (used) shock on the rear. I also changed the fuel filter in the tank and installed new plugs and a K&N air filter. I changed the coolant while I was there and cleaned up the throttle bodies. I wanted to replace the cables but Chicago BMW hasn't even let me know when they will be delivered so I put it back together. I can only let it sit so long... :D ...I also put on a new rear tire. I got 11K out of the last BT020. I did a supper run (RTE) with the CMA last night. It was about 160 miles round trip. It was very windy and it seemed to run a little warmer running with the wind. It cooled off with a side wind. It seems to run warmer in town than it used to. I'm not sure why that is. I got close to 50 mpg on the trip. That's the best ever for me. It runs great and I get a lot of compliments on it. I'm coming up on 40K. It's been a great bike so far............

You could have knocked a connector loose for one of the radiator fand while you had it apart. That's where I would start.

Did you massage the hoses as you filled the bike? You might be a little shy on coolant.

Another thought, you cut it 50/50 coolant and distilled water?

Mine ran warm the first trip as well. It needed to get some more air bubbles out of the engine. Work the hoses and check the fluid and also the cap is on tight and then go for a ride again. I think you will see it will run at the right level again.

I'll work the hoses and see if I got some air in it. I used Prestone Extended Life 50/50 mix................ :bmw:
