I purchased my 2002 LT used with 36K miles.. Just changed all the fluids..
How do you "CLEAN" the oil check window, with out tearing the engine apart ?
I'm running Full Syn. Rock Oil 15w-50w engine, Rock Oil Tranny 75w/90w , is this ok ?

There is no way to clean it. It is easy to replace it. It just pops out and the replacement pops in. But to get it out you have to put a hole in it. If you really want to see the condition of the window, put her on the center stand and start the engine. The oil will disappear from the window. Shut it off and watch it re-appear. The fresh oil will go black in a hurry and often that is mistaken for a dirty window.

That's how I check mine, but on mine the oil does not disappear from the window; it is a the half way point, but it is easier to see.

That is true from a cold start. End of a long ride put her on the stand and look in there she will be empty until you cut her off.

If the LT is on the side stand, shouldn't the oil be halfway up on the window?
