I know there must be someone in this group that can help me with this:

I have an older Autocom easy..something system. I am strictly using it for intercom. I like to upgrade (on the cheap) to get the sound from the ZUMO, Ipod, and radio into both helmets. No phone! I make enough calls in the office...
:(

Anyone that has done this, or can give me some ideas? I like to order what I need before the tech session.

THANKS!!!

Jerry, you remember the back way to my place? Now, that's a good one to double the speed limit on the curves!!!

Wolfgang we are meeting Dan in Columbus for breakfast.

How about the three of us meet at the Valero Gas Station at I-45 and FM1488?

Country Bum, if you come west on 242 go north on the frontage road to FM1488 then go west (towards Magnolia) and you will see the station on your right just after you cross over I-45. If you come west on 105,just as you get into Conroe, take Loop 336 south to I-45 and go south to the 1488 exit (Second exit I believe) and go west (towards Magnolia), the station will be on your right. I think Dan said he would meet us at 6:30 in Columbus (100 miles), so we need to meet at the Valero at 5:00. That work for you guys?

We can either take back roads down to Columbus, or we can run slab all the way (I-45 to Beltway (this is a toll road Country Bum so if you haven't got a Toll Tag bring quarters), to I-10 west)?

Deer may...no WILL be an issue on the back roads that time of morning, but the slab is boring. Mileage is the same either way, you guys can decide.

Hey guys, I just threw out the 6:30 in columbus thinking one of you (Jerry) would squawk about needing their beauty sleep. If y'all want to avoid slabbing it, I'll meet you in brenham or bellville or wherever. Still haven't heard from Grif about what time he wants to start.

Neither of you said how you wanted to make the run to Columbus (Slab or back roads).

Slab is boring and if you don't have a toll tag you will need change.

Backroads that time of morning will be thick with Horned Rats.

So who has a preference?

Hey Jerry, I live in the kingwood area so I will just cutover to 45 on 1960. I can meet everyone at 45/1960 or just go up to conroe.

Hey Sean,

You are more than welcome to join us up here in The Woodlands if you want. We will be headed south on I-45 to the Beltway to I-10, then hookin it west to Columbus. Would you rather meet up with us somewhere along the way and save you some backtracking?

Sean,

Take your pick, there isn't a real easy off easy on location right at 1960 so if you know of a better location to meet, or if Wolfgang does since he works right down in that area???

1960 is an easy on/easy off from both directions, clearly marked too. Should not be a problem.

Just north of New Braunfels is exit FM306 to Canyon Lake. Take it. Go 6 1/2 miles, make a left into River Chase. You'll go down a low water crossing, up and then enter a sweeper. There's a big house on the right with a black wrought iron fence, you'll make a left there onto Indian Ridge. It doglegs, make another left on Westshire, then another left onto Hidden Hollow. Second red gate on the right. It'll be open.

Some folks get confused twixt their right and their lefts. I've solved that by getting someone who knows the difference to mark my gloves with a L & R in white paint.

Going south on I45 take Exit 66 toward FM1960. At the intersection of 1960 is an Exxon station. That should be a good place to meet.

Wolfgang, Country Bum & Sean,

I have to pull out for tomorrow. I had scheduled a dyno for my bike that was supposed to be done this morning, however after I waited around the dealership for 2.5 hours they tell me my bike won't even go in the booth till late afternoon. So, I took my bike and left. Until I get it tuned I don't want to be running highway speeds for any length of time and blue my brand new mufflers (the dealership put new ones on after I blued the first pair).

Sean, you may want to re-check those times, cause we were leaving here at 5:30 not 5:45, but now it will be up to Wolfgang.

You guys ride safe and hope to see everyone next weekend.

Grif, the tools are save...this time.

Well we had a great time good food good friends and a bunch of bikes worked on. We did 3 or 4 full fluid changes, 1 valve check on Russ's bike, 48,000 and all was well. Wolfgang got the most done with a full fluid change, new Speagler brake lines and a new SmartTire install. Jim (Lonesumrider) had his hooked up to the GS911 and it pull a O2 sensor fail code. So off to the parts store in Grif's truck while Grif pulled the exhaust . There was also a HID upgrade on Country-bum's bike I know there was more work done but I not sure what I was busy Changing brake lines

I can't thank all of you enough!!!

Griff, for opening his house, not just the garage but the whole house to us. Including offering me a comfortable bed and shower. Yes, I ended up spending the night. His detailed technical knowledge of LT's is remarkable. And having every conceivable tool and piece of equipment well organized in his garage is priceless. There was no work done to his GT, yet he was the hardest working and loudest cussing guy there.

Steve, who simple took over replacing my flexible brake lines with Spiegler braided lines, an investment that everyone with an older LT should consider for the added safety factor and much improved brake feel. He had the lines replaced in no time with great attention to detail. All brackets nicely lined up, tie wraps everywhere. Great job Steve!!

Dan, (a fellow major investor in Smartire, together him and I own almost 2 million shares, the eqivelent of about $150, this is what being a contraian investor does to you) helped with the Smartire installation and oviously knows much more about the technology than he does about investing. Here I am talking, and I know neither :(

In addition, every time I turned around someone offered help, just great folks. When I found out that I had the wrong oil filter with me, Dick handed me an (not allowed to mention the brand ;)) oil filter and no one would take my money for it.

I left this morning with all new brake lines, the rear rotor replaced ( courtesy of Randy Prade who donated an almost new one he had saved) Smartire system installed, including a neat custom bracket made for the display, and all fluids changed.

It felt like riding a new bike home. Several little rattles and vibrations are gone, the brakes feel totally different in a good way, and knowing what your tire pressure is at all time is very re-assuring. I hate to even mention it, because it makes no sense to me, but the transmission is shifting smoother or so it seems after draining and filling it with 75-140 synthetic gear oil.(royal purple)

My own contribution to all this was limited for lack of hands on experience and almost passing out with a slow recovery afterwards. It was either overheating, de-hydration, or blood sugar, or a combination of all.

Griff ordered me into the AC of his living room, feet up on the recliner, several glasses of water and an herbal remedy (Bee pollen) I recovered quickly, but had real low energy for the rest of the day. He than fixed me a cocktail of apple vinegar and several other ingredients that he claimed tastes like "Massengills" but it works. Side-note: How does he know was Massengills tastes like? But that would be too much information :)

After the rest of you left, Griff and I went to a delightful dive for dinner and had shrimp, mud-bugs, sausage, corn, and potatoes and I had a few COLD beers.(His will power in sticking with iced tea is commendable). My energy returned miraculously.

One could not ask for better friends! Nothing but friendly bicker and helpfulness all day.

Thanks again!

Anytime I can return the favors, just let me know

Wolfgang...you are correct, it DOES depend on what you are shopping for and Grif is gonna love this...Curtains for the door in our bedroom. No no No NO! RUN!! If a woman gets new curtians, then you have to get a new bedspread. If she gets a new bedspread, she has to get new bath towels. Now with the new towels, they will not match the floor so it also has to be replaced. With the new floor in the bathroom, it's close to the bedroom and will clash with the brand new bedspread and curtians so you have to get a new bedroom floor. If you get a new bedroom floor, it has to match the hallway floor and it will not so you have to get a new hallway floor. Getting a big carpet to go in every room is no longer accepted so the hallway has to look like wood but cannot contain any wood particles in it. After the hallway is packed out, it will not match with the other bathroom and bedrooms so you have to replace all those floors... It is not going to stop and the new kitchen came just for looking at curtians on a saturday when you should have been loading your bike on a trailer and going somewhere.

No no No NO! RUN!! If a woman gets new curtians, then you have to get a new bedspread. If she gets a new bedspread, she has to get new bath towels. Now with the new towels, they will not match the floor so it also has to be replaced. On the other hand, she never even lifts and eyebrow when I want to buy a gun, tool, or something for the bike, so I really should quit snivelling.

Did we have a bell fairy at the tech session?

Looked down at my front tire today and noticed a bell hanging from my break line. Had to take a double look to make sure I was getting on the right bike.

If it was someone at the session, Thanks, I needed that.

At Ed's Old Windmill restaurant. It's over near Grif's casa, northside of Canyon Lake, on 306. Be about 45-50 minutes from Boerne - maybe an hour from downtown S.A. Not sure, butt I think they have a webpage. If I find it, I'll ping ya with it.

Found it (wuz real hard!!!): http://www.edsoldwindmill.com/

Go out FM306, way out. Past my house. Fact is, staying at the Omni, you'd be best served hitting 306 from 281. Coming that way it will be on the left. I pass it all the time and I live here.

Grif - you gwanna go to breaky Satiday??

Hey, Dan - if you wanna, we can meet at the SE corner of 281 and 46 (gas station of some variety) and you can follow me over to Ed's Ole Windmill. Say ~0730 - should get us there when the rest of the gang shows.

I had two servings. One from the edge the other from the center as a
quality check. The center was just as good as the edge, and both were great.
