kk610lt started this thread: http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33280, back in early March when it was still pretty miserable riding weather. I then suggested the DuPage Inn near the intersection of I-88 and I-355 (it's on Ogden, just east of I-355). I was wondering if anyone has been meeting for pizza lately?
Thanks,
Jer

Jerry I am not sure but I do not think this ever took place. I am up for pizza night but unfortunately I work at least two evenings a week.
I also wonder if anyone would be interested in a tech session?
I would love to save some money on maintainance and repairs. :)

I have to admit that I don't have a very good selection of tools or a lift, but I do have an oil filter wrench. I'd be more than willing to host a tech session as long as we can encourage someone with better mechanical skills/knowledge than I have, to be there.
Brats and beer on me if we can work something out. That might get some of our WI friends down for the session. :D

I like the idea of a RTE. That being said, busy schedule makes it tough to commit. Let me know when and I'll try and make it.

I am looking for a tech session in the Green Bay area, I could drive down to Chicago if you guys come up with a time and place. I am new to the LT and I need to do the 36K service soon. Looking forward to meeting other riders.

Schedule an RTE and I'll bring along the SE Wisconsin contingent. Just not this weekend as I'll be up in Houghton at the RA Rally.

Since there is a lack of response for a tech session, and I re-initiated this thread, I guess a RTE is something that I can commit to.
I can find a place near the IL-WI border if that works? Then do some riding north and west of Monroe?

I'll throw this one out:
Sunday, 29 June at Bobby's in Volo, IL to meet/eat (I don't know when they open) and then find some good roads to ride?

This might do if I can ride by then. I will be taking very short ones just to see how much pain i can take. The pain not riding is unbearable!

JerWork permitting, I would be interested in a tech session or RTE. I have limited knowledge on LT's but having owned a couple of them I do limited farkle add-ons (wiring and mounting). The service end is where I stumble.

Hi Jon,
That's a great offer. I love the area for riding. Fits for what I'd like to achieve, with a great ride up if you could advise the best roads to ride North out of Monroe up to Mt Horeb.
I don't have a maint. issue at the moment, so if others do, I could certainly help to hand you tools.

I send you A PM and we can Talk About a day to do. Parts should be here this week and plan on doing it the wk of the 29 Of June Jon

Hey Keith. What do you suggest? The 29th can be either an RTE or ride to Mt. Horab. Either way it's a good thing. I have the whole day of the 29th, so I'd like to ride. Got any suggestions on a RTE?

Hey Jon,
Are you shooting me/us up Cr-A, out of Argyle, 'cause it's an awesome road?
Heading out of Monroe on Cr-J/Jg, straight up to Mt. Horab, is faster. I'd like scenic, myself.

I'd say, go ahead with the WI. plans..tech/food as you planned for the 29th.
But...let's nail down a RTE date.
Round and round she goes..where she stops, nobody knows.....
July 2, 2008 DuPage Inn (As suggested above) 6:30pm.
Come if you can.....we'll plan future dates after we see how it goes.

July 2nd sounds good to me. John (JCabranes) and I are planning to ride on the 29th. Don't know if we'll gather for the tech session, since there's not a lot of response for it. I don't plan to drill a weep hole and we both want to use the day for riding.
If anyone else wants to join in on a ride into WI, this Sunday, let us know. It's looking like good weather so far.

Hi Ron,
I can meet you early, somewhere around Elgin. We can then meet-up with John (JCabranes) either in Beloit, Brodhead or Monroe, then head up to Mt. Horab.
There're some awesome looking roads & terrain north and west of Mt. Horab that I've been wanting to check out for a long time.
Eat?? When or where ever you'd like.

We can meet at the Taco Bell parking lot (not to eat) located at the entrance to a strip mall, intersection of S. McLean Blvd. & Lillian St. I assume you will be coming north on Rt59...turn left, west onto Rt20 bypass...exit at McLean Blvd. Go right one block north to the traffic light. Taco Bell will be on the left....Give me a time & I will be there.

I'll be there if there's still any interest in meeting (unless the 70% chance of thunderstorms actually occurs in the area).

Well, what would you expect from a bicyclist Keith, West Chicago Jer, Elgin Ron, Batbyk lost and all the others who say - lets have a RTE!!!!!!
Plans made ------- a few drops of water , a great hamburger, exciting waitress and an understanding host made the night almost believable.
The host couldn't believe that BEEMERS would not show to eat. I understood that cruisers would be scared of a little rain BUT BEEEEEEEMERRRRS? Never.
Well, I am the standard bearer for the Midwest LT. I was there!!!!!!
You never see the SE group not show.
Well, I guess we have to be retrained in the Midwest.

It wasn't the rain Dave. Had a nice ride last Sunday, with and without it. Read it as not getting a whole lot of response from others, including yourself. I had no idea anyone else was interested. Even with keeping on top of this thread and reposting it to keep it fresh, there still was no feedback. I also posted that it was cancelled 1.5 hours before the meeting time.
Maybe your endorsement of the burgers will get others to ride out. :histerica

I thought you were finally rescheduling your priorities from bicycles to LTs? Now this!!!!! REetraining of priorities in the Midwest!!!!
Jer - I had been commuting all over Chicagoland yesterday and went straight there. No computer. Of course, when I saw the dark clouds, girlfriend bet me that Beemers would be a NO-SHOW like cruisers and I bet against her.
I lost. Thanks, guys. I now have a honey-do list for the weekend.

Yes, the Prius does get better milage. Good thing the RTE was canceled, since I have my bike torn down to do a valve check, I would of shown up in the Prius.
Yardwork? You should tell Barry you live in an apartment & don't due yardwork anymore.

We could but if we were to meet at our place it is only 6 miles to Redemak's. Our place could also be the starting location. In the fall the Harbor country ride is a great colorful ride.

What are you thinking? This is Chicago and there is actually baseball in October. Never in the history in the universe have the Cubs been in First, the Sox tied for First, and the Bears tied for first. Who can think about riding or eating?!!!
