I'm trying to gauge my tire life, and stupidly did not record beginning tread depth. So if anyone has it for Metzler 880s and Bridgestone BT020s (front and rear for both) I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

I now have 5mm rear, 4mm front. I just had the M880's installed about 1.5k ago.

HERE (http://www.us.metzelermoto.com/en_US/browser/attachments/pdf/2008_METZELER_FULL_LINE.pdf) is a reference for ME880s it's 5mm on the front and 9mm on the rear.

HERE (http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/tire-tyre-guide/Bridgestone-BT020.htm) is a reference for BT020s and it looks like 5mm on the front and 8mm on the rear.

First, I have no idea what happened to my reply post I did just 20 mins ago......

I checked my receipt. I purchased these just under 3k miles ago, 11-13-07.
M880 Marathon 120/70 VB-17
160/70 VB-17

I am pretty sure I measured these when I got them new for reference, at
either 4 or 5F and 6R.

3k miles later, they register 4F/5R.

How can the specs be off that much? I don't see how they could have been rated for 8-9mm for the rear.

Called the dealer to clear this up, but they were too busy to answer the phone. Anyone has an answer, sure would like to close the book on this posting.

Thanks!
