I put some Bridgestone BattleAx tires on before going up to the tail of the dragon in NC, (you know, 318 curves in 11 miles). I was riding on Metzlers, performed like night and day. We'll see how they hold up. I'll let you guys know.

They won't hold up. The front tire will be toast in 2500 miles with agressive riding.

I get about 6000 miles on the front BT020 and about 10,000 mile on the rear with a mix of city/highway/twisties aggressive riding. Just be sure to keep the pressure 42/48.

In all my time on LTs, trying just about every brand and combination, I ended up going back to BT020 radials. For me, they were the best overall tire on the LT. Outstanding grip, especially when wet. The Metzelers did not handle as good for me, and certainly had far worse wet grip.

The mileage for the front was considerably less than the Metz, but a small price to pay for better handling and grip. The mileage for the rear was comparable to the Metz though, and did not get nearly as noisy as the Metz did when about half worn.

If I still had an LT I would like to try the NEW Avons, but I did not like the AV45/AV46 Avons at all. Other than that, the only tires I would run would be the BT020s, although the radial version is no longer available. From what I can read here though the Bias BT020s are nearly as good.

My last set were Storms and the front wore out on the left side only at about 6K the rear has only 3K on it and looks OK
