OK. So... I'm working on the LT last week with BMWPhreak and we're talking about how I keep over tightening stuff... I admit it... it's a problem I have....
anyhooo... so last night I'm working on finishing my HID accessory install... and *SNAP* much to my chagrine... I've done it again....
I snapped the little spherical mounting bolts for the mirrors clean off.... I was able to get the remnant out of the thread... but I stopped by Gengras in Hartford to get some more and guess what? Yepper... not even one is stock... dang! I want to go riding, but I know the stupid mirror is going to pop off in like 2 miles.... I'm tempted to just run a screw right through it from the outside and be done with it! :D
So, I may try to see if MAX has any and take a ride up to NH to get some tomorrow... but I really could use the 5 hours it'll burn for other stuff that "someone" around here may consider more important.....
Does anyone local have one of them hanging around I can have until the ones I ordered come in? I can meet you tomorrow if that would work for you....
Anyway, thanks for reading!

Could be a job for "DUCT TAPE" until you get some replacement hardware. Didn't you notice the silver duct tape on mine in VT. Mine flutter from worn plastic by the spring clips. Tape keeps them steady for a few months!!! B.B.

Now, THAT pic could be sent to BMW... I bet they could charge $80 for 4 120 mm strips of "derdukatpin"

LOL! I did NOT know that it comes in clear... that really might come in handy sometime. I finally got the new mirror bolts from the dealer and installed them - it really made a difference. I think the old ones must have gotten a little worn from the miles, the new ones clipped right on with only a little shimming to allow for the new light brackets. Barnett, you might want to try new ones for yours since it made a pretty big difference on mine?

You'll have to see the amount of light the new under mirrors throw to believe it... WOW does not do it justice :p
Thanks for the ideas guys!

I can do that. New mirror studs now on my to-buy list. Thanks, but what to do with the extra duct tape I will not need? Answer not required!!!

Clear Packing tape should do the trick for a while I would think. Put a little something to keep a gap then tape it down.
